They need to be charged from a good light source. Direct sunlight works best, but as soon as this has gone they start to emit light (lose their charge). For example, in a room that has direct sunlight only in the morning, when they comes to bedtime the stars will not glow as well, they will have lost some of their power thought-out the day
High watt light bulbs can be used to charge the stars
The room needs to be dark. There can be no other light sources like, night lights, lights from fish tanks, street lights coming through curtains or bright LCD lights. The stars simply cannot compete with electrically powered items
